About Lisa Kaplan MFT

If you are going to entrust a person with your relationship, it is important that you feel comfortable. I have been told again and again that I make people feel comfortable talking about difficult subjects. I think they are feeling that I really care about my clients, and how they are doing. I often check on clients long after they have terminated therapy with me, just to make sure that they are still doing well.

I help couples to strengthen or reinvigorate their connection. I believe that people heal best in the context of a relationship. Most couples have trouble because of communication issues. I will help you learn the communication skills necessary to create the safety for healing and growth. When I work with a couple, I think of the relationship as my client. I work hard to provide structure in my sessions, which makes it possible for each partner to express their feelings.

If you are an individual seeking therapy, my supportive approach can help you gain the coping skills needed to face life's challenges relating to depression, anxiety, grief and loss, as well as, many other issues. I can help you make sense of your past experiences, as well as, current behavior, which may be getting in the way of your happiness.
